What does it mean to you to be a member of the Carmel Swim Club National Team?

Being on the Carmel Swim Club National Team is a huge honor.  I am very proud to be on this team because I have proven to myself that all the endless hours, the hard work, and great racing have finally paid off.  I also feel more like a leader for my team and have gained more respect as an athlete.

What things have you learned in root to making the National Team that you would pass onto future members of the team?

I have learned that if you believe in yourself, you can achieve your goals.  It took a long time for me to realize that you have to trust yourself and not worry about making the time standards, but focus on the race that is ahead of you.  Also, I have learned that if you are confident before you race the outcome will most likely be what you want.
