Sunday, April 18 "RACE DAY"

8:30 am - Transition Area closes

8:30 am Adult Pre-Race Meeting (MANDATORY)

There will be a mandatory meeting for ALL race participants to cover event rules and course updates. This meeting will take place in the gym. Timing chips will only be available for pick-up at this meeting.

9:00 am - Adult Race Starts

All participants will start in the pool in 5 second intervals. Racers will be seeded for the swim according to their self-reported 100 meter swim time. Racers will be organized into "flights" and seated in the gymnasium until their flights are called to the pool. Flights will be led from the gym to the pool area one at a time. This is a new starting procedure that will minimize time spent standing on the pool deck prior to pool entry.

9:30 am Youth Pre-Race Meeting

10:00 am Youth Race Starts

The same ’Flight’ system will be in place for the Youth race.

10:30 am - Post Race Awards - Open Category racers

First Timers

First Time Jitters?

The pool and time trial start mean that you won’t have to fight the crowds of a traditional mass start.  There is no open water swimming.  Lane lines will help you swim straight.  You are permitted to wear floatation devices, but if you do, you will not be eligible for awards.

For the bike, this triathlon is a no drafting event.  You will have your own space on our traffic controlled / closed route, while other bikers keep their distance.  And, there’s no mid-summer heat on the run!

There’s no better first time opportunity!

Volunteers

There is no better vantage point to watch the race and cheer for your favorite athletes, than from the numerous volunteer positions on the routes.  To volunteer please eMail us at triathlon@carmelswimclub.org.  Each volunteer will receive a T-shirt and an invitation to our great post race party celebration!
