Carmel Swimmers Make Their Mark on National Top Ten Rankings

USA Swimming released their list of the Top Ten Performances from September 1, 2008 through August 31, 2009 last week.  The list enumerates the top ten performers by age and event for both short course yards and long course meters.  The individuals who make this list are truly the best of the best.  It is an accomplishment of the highest degree to produce a swim that qualifies an athlete as one of the ten best performers in a particular event throughout the country.

Carmel Swim Club is incredibly proud to recognize our athletes who made their mark on this national list.

A special congratulations goes out to Harrison Wagner.  Harrison boasted the nation’s fastest performance (23.96) from a 15-year-old boy in the LCM 50 Freestyle.  Joining Harrison on the boy’s list is Daniel Hasler.  Daniel produced the eighth fastest time from a 17-year-old boy in the 400-Meter IM this year (4:29.96).

Lacey Locke made the list in an impressive five individual events.  Lacey’s top performance came in the 13-year-old girls 100-Yard Backstroke, where she swam the fifth best time this year (56.53).  Lacey had the sixth fastest time in the country the 100-Meter Backstroke (1:03.83) for 14-year-old girls and the SCY 200 Backstroke (2:02.86) for 13-year-old girls.  She also had two eighth place times for 14-year-old girls in the 50-Meter Freestyle (26.96) and the 200-Meter Backstroke (2:18.15).
