FACILITY:
Competition Pool: One 50-meter pool with
8-nine-foot wide lanes each with
competitor non-turbulent lane markers.
Colorado Time System 5, will be used.
For Friday/Saturday nights and
Saturday/Sunday mornings
lanes 1-7 will be utilized
for competition with lane 8 reserved for
warm-up and warm-down. For
Saturday/Sunday afternoons, there will
be no separate warm-up, warm-down
facilities. In the event of
circumstances necessitating changes
during the meet, information will be
updated on the Carmel Swim Club website
www.carmelswimclub.org . Balcony
spectator seating is available.
PARKING:
Free parking will be available in the
lots adjacent to Carmel High School.
Additional parking is available north of
the pool at the football stadium
(approximately 1/3 mile). Team busses
should load and unload at the Natatorium
entrance (Building Entrance 21) and park
at the football stadium. Spectators
will not be able to park on school
grounds on Friday, May 13, prior to 3:00
P.M.
RULES:
Current USA Swimming and Indiana
Swimming rules will govern meet. Please
pay special attention rule 202.3.2: At a
sanctioned competitive event, USA
Swimming athlete members must be under
the supervision of a USA Swimming member
coach during warm-up, competition, and
warm-down. The Meet Director or Meet
Referee shall assist the member in
making arrangements for such
supervision.
ELIGIBILITY:
Age as of May 13, 2005 shall determine
age for the meet. All swimmers must be
currently registered with USA Swimming.
These registration numbers must
accompany entry. Coaches must
constantly display their USA Swimming
coach credential to gain deck access.
The meet referee or meet director
reserves the right to ask for coach
credential display and/or deny access if
coach does not comply.
MEET FORMAT:
All events are TIMED FINALS.
This meet will be run with split
sessions Saturday and Sunday. The
Friday evening session consists of the
following age groups: 11-12 and Open
events. The Saturday evening session
consists of the following age group:
Open events. The Saturday and Sunday
morning sessions consist of the
following age group: Open events. The
Saturday and Sunday afternoon sessions
will consist of the following age
groups: 10 & Under and 11-12 events.
The Carmel Swim Club reserves the
right to limit the number of heats in
all events to keep the time line
manageable. There will be no
refunds for a swimmer not making the top
heats. Limits will be posted to the
Carmel Swim Club website Tuesday May 10,
2005. All entrants for distance events
must provide their own counter and
timer.
Carmel Swim Club reserves the right to
use chase starts or fly-over starts for
all events.
NOTE: Age groups 13-14
and Open will compete together but be
awarded separately. Age groups 8 &
Under and 9-10 will swim together but be
awarded separately.
POSITIVE CHECK-IN:
Positive Check-in means “I am here and I
intend to swim this event”.
All Friday events & 1500m Free require
positive check-in.
Deadline:
Friday Events 4:15 P.M.
1500 Free 5:15 P.M.
Saturday
Positive check-in sheets will be located
at the security tables as you enter the
pool on the deck level. All swimmers
not declaring intent to swim via
positive check-in will be scratched.
Since the number of heats will be
limited on Friday and on Saturday for
1500m Free, failure to check-in may
jeopardize your opportunity to swim your
events. Positive check-in will
NOT be required for Saturday and Sunday
events, except 1500m Free (see
“Scratches” below). The 1500m free will
be swum from fastest to slowest
alternating 1 heat of girls with 1 heat
of boys.
ENTRIES & LIMITS:
No team entry will be broken. Each
swimmer will be limited to four (4)
events per session. If an entry is
submitted with an individual entered in
more events than this rule allows, the
entry will be made by order of events
starting with Event #1 until the rule is
satisfied; there will be NO refunds.
In the event that the
meet is over entered, CSC reserves the
right to determine which entries to
accept. Among the items CSC will
consider when making these
determinations are: Teams will not be
broken, number of officials and
volunteers provided by the team, balance
of age group and gender in entry, level
of competition and geographic location.
EVENT SEEDING:
Seeding of Friday events and the 1500m
Free will be made after the close of
positive check-in. In all individual
events on Saturday and Sunday except the
1500m Free, the swimmer is assumed to be
swimming unless he/she has been
scratched from the event. Events will
be seeded Friday night for Saturday
morning afternoon events and Sunday
events.
SCRATCHES:
Scratch
forms will be available at the Clerk of
Course for scratching Saturday and
Sunday events. Scratches shall be made
at the Clerk of Course prior to:
Saturday
events: 6:00 P.M. Friday
Sunday events:
2:00 P.M. Saturday
ENTRY FEES:
All
fees
must
accompany entry. Please make check
payable to:
CARMEL SWIM CLUB.
Individual events: $4.00 per event.
There is also a $1.00 per swimmer, per
meet, Indiana Swimming surcharge which
must accompany each entry.
DECK ENTRIES:
Accepted if meet is not filled and ONLY
as NEW ADDITIONS; CHANGES WILL NOT BE
ACCEPTED. Entry fee for deck entries is
$8.00 per event.
DEADLINE:
All times must be submitted in
LONG
COURSE METERS TIMES AND COMPLETED TO THE
HUNDREDTH OF A SECOND.
Please enter each swimmer with their
first and last names, age and USA
Swimming number on the entry.
Entries
will not be accepted before 8:00 A.M.,
April 4, 2005.
The final entry date for entries to be
received is by 5:00 P.M., April 29, 2005
or when the meet is full, whichever is later.
Teams
not accepted will have their entries
returned as soon as possible, but no
later than May 2, 2005 via E-mail or US
postal depending on form of entry.
Deadline will be extended if the meet is
not full.
We strongly suggest submitting entries
via e-mail of Hy-Tek CL2 file.
E-mail confirmation of receipt will be
returned. All e-mail entries must be
followed by a paper entry and check for
entry fees.
If e-mail entry is not possible,
We
highly recommend using email or some
form of express mail to deliver your
entry, i.e., Federal Express, Overnight
Mail, etc. HAND DELIVERIES,
TELEPHONE ENTRIES OR FAX ENTRIES WILL
NOT BE ACCEPTED.
Please make your check payable to:
Carmel Swim Club and enclose it with
your entry. This meet will be run using
Hy-Tek Meet Manager computer program.
Diskette entries will be accepted using
Hy-Tek Commlink program (do not forget
to “age up” swimmers for 5/13/05).
A
printed copy must accompany the
diskette.
In all
cases, the printed copy is the final
word in any disputes involving entries.
Entries of more than 10 swimmers not
submitted via e-mail or on disk will be
subject to a $25 data procession fee.

FINAL RESULTS:
One complimentary copy will be provided
to every club with five or more
swimmers. Extra copies may be ordered at
the meet for $8.00. Final results will
also be posted at the CSC web site at
www.carmelswimclub.org .
AWARDS:
Awards for 1st through 8th
in all events. Team awards will be presented for 1st,
2nd and 3rd. High point award in each Age Group.

CLERK OF COURSE:
The Clerk of Course will be located on
deck. Lane assignments will be posted
at various points around the pool. We
highly encourage coaches to cover
check-in, scratch and meet procedures
with their new swimmers and parents.
ABSOLUTELY NO PARENTS WILL BE ALLOWED ON
THE POOL DECK. This is an insurance
requirement of USA Swimming.
CONCESSIONS:
Concessions will be available at the
concession stand on the second level
just outside the seating area.
ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING
IS PERMITTED IN THE BUILDING.
ADMISSION:
Admission will be charged. Children 10
and under are free.
HEAT SHEETS:
Heat sheets will be available for
purchase by spectators.
WARM-UPS:
Lanes for warm-ups will be assigned.

member that is in charge of your

FACILITY
NOTE:
The
Carmel High School Natatorium is a state
of the art facility. It is important
that all people attending this meet,
whether it be swimmers, coaches, or
spectators, treat this facility with the
utmost care. The following rules will
be strictly enforced:
1) Keep all
trash picked up (swimmers and teams in
particular)
2) Do not go or let children
go, in any unauthorized areas. This
means any place other than the
lobby, seating areas, or lobby. Due to
USA Swimming insurance requirements only swimmers, coaches, officials
and volunteers are allowed on deck.
There can be
no exceptions!
The Carmel
Swim Club will have security people
roaming the deck and locker room areas.
If any swimmer is caught abusing the
building or facility, they will
immediately be asked to leave the meet
and will be barred from further
competition.

Carmel Swim Club, and its' Board of
Directors, United States Swimming,

General Information:
1.
Each team
is responsible for its own valuables.
2.
Each coach is responsible for the
conduct of his or her team.
3.
Only swimmers and coaches will be
allowed in the deck area., except during
the 1500s at which time a designated
timer and counter will be allowed on
deck to help with that event. There are
three men’s and three women’s locker
rooms on deck.
4.
An athletic trainer will be available
during the meet.
